Jewish people of eastern European descent. Jews from Germany on east are considered Ashkenaz/Ashkenazi (these aren’t gendered, just different ways of making it an adjective) Jews. The vast majority of white Jews in the United States are of Ashkenazi descent, and today make up 80% of Jewish folks worldwide.
I figured I’d just put a definition out there since I’d been throwing around the word.
